Freedom is one of the greatest gifts of salvation—but do we understand where it comes from?
Yes, Jesus died for our sins, but His role didn’t stop at the cross. Right now, in this very moment, He is your High Priest, interceding on your behalf before the Father.
And because of that, you are free.

1. What Does It Mean to Have a High Priest?
In the Old Testament, the high priest was the only one who could enter the Most Holy Place and offer sacrifices for the sins of the people.
Today, Jesus is our eternal High Priest.
“We have a great High Priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God.” — Hebrews 4:14
He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices daily—He was the perfect sacrifice. And now He stands in the gap for us.
2. He Understands Your Weakness
What makes Jesus different? He’s not distant. He gets you.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses...” — Hebrews 4:15
He’s walked where you walk. He’s felt pain, betrayal, hunger, temptation. And yet He did not sin.
That means when you stumble, He’s not condemning you—He’s interceding for you.
3. Your Freedom Is Secure
Because of our High Priest:
We can approach God confidently (Hebrews 4:16)
We have forgiveness once and for all
We are no longer bound by guilt, shame, or religious striving
Your freedom isn’t fragile—it’s built on Christ Himself.
Final Thought
You’re not just free—you’re represented in heaven by Jesus Christ, your High Priest. You don’t need to earn God’s love. He already poured it out. Walk boldly today, because you are already free.
